11/15/08 -9am visit

She looked MUCH better than when she first came-in. She has regained her color and seems to be comfortable. She is still in-n-out of consciousness and does not seem to respond to much, but this is to be expected. She is still in a neck brace/collar because they want her to stay as immobile as possible until she has her "wits" about herself so that she can accurately tell the Doctors what hurts and what doesn't. All of her bones/joints seem to be intact and are not causing her pain. The Doctors have said that we are basically just waiting on her to heal and recover because she took such a tremendous hit. She does have serious injuries that require Trauma ICU monitoring, but it looks as though NONE of her injuries will require surgery. When she is able to speak and function, the doctors are going to encourage her to breath deeply to more or less reinflate her lung and make sure that she is not susceptible to pneumonia. Right now, they are doing X-Rays and MRI's every 24 hours to make sure that her condition doesn't change. This also involves a small amount of Delaudid (sp), so, she's pretty-much "out of it".
