Sorry for the late Post, but they let me stay-late with her again.
Her friend Michelle and her husband Rick brought her McAllister's Chicken Tortilla Soup and Sweet Tea! She ate some, but was too tired to actually eat it all. I fed her a little and they brought-in a chair and let me sit with her.
She is off of the Foley Catheter and most of the fluids. Nutrition ran her blood and found that she is low on Potassium and Magnesium, so, they are going to give her that in liquid-form with her food. (The Potassium Pills are about the size of a chicken egg,so, she opted for the liquid. Hahaha)
They just asked me to leave, because Physical Therapy came-in to get her up-n-walking. They are going to start slow with a walker and see how she goes. At this point, I might get a "cane" and walk with her! Hahaha
Also, her neck is still tender,so, they have to leave the Neck Brace on for a little while longer, but they got her a MUCH smaller one that is softer and more flexible. She loves it because it gives her more freedom and doesn't restrict her mouth movement as much.
We are still waiting on a regular room to become available,so, she's still in the Trauma Unit.
Whoa! They are letting me go back-in!
Talk to you again at 5!

Sooo glad to hear that Wendy is moving up in the world...and the Med. Tell your army of people that will be staying with her to be very, VERY proactive about her needs once she is off the trauma floor. It is a whole different world! In fact, if you need a politely pushy representative to take some shifts, I'm in! Hope Wendy is resting well. Let her know that we are ready to bedazzle her walker anytime she's ready!
